Tater’s Latest Update 💕

Tater is doing so well in her new foster home!

Since moving into her current foster home, Tater has gained back about 2 pounds! Her weight has been steady for about two months now, but she feels more solid and substantial every day. We think she is continuing to rebuild the muscle mass she lost when she was so thin.

Tater has a really good appetite and absolutely loves her prescription treats. She greets her foster mom at the door every time she walks into the room, ready to ask for treats and pets! She loves being picked up for a cuddle and spending time in her heated bed. Her foster grandma also comes by every day at lunchtime while her foster mom is at work to give her lunch, treats, and, of course, plenty of cuddles.

Her arthritis injections have been a lifesaver. Her foster family can really tell when she is getting close to needing her next one because her pain becomes much more noticeable. With her injections keeping her comfortable, Tater has even started to play a little bit again!

It took a little while to figure out the right diet for Tater, but she is now doing very well on her specialized protein diet with added fiber, which has helped address her chronic diarrhea. She also continues to receive prednisolone and Renal K+ gel every day as part of her ongoing care.

After several foster homes and time at our adoption center, Tater seems to have really settled into this new chapter. She is eating well, comfortable, getting lots of attention, and enjoying all the little things that make her happy — treats, cuddles, her heated bed, and even a little playtime.
