Help Esme - Born with a Rare Condition Requiring Life-Saving Surgery

Esme is an 8-month-old male tabby who was rescued after living as a stray in the community. Since being brought safely indoors in September, he’s been cared for by one of our amazing fosters and has quickly shown what a sweet and resilient boy he is.

At his recent veterinary visit, it was discovered that Esme has a rare congenital condition called a diaphragmatic hernia, a defect in the muscle that separates the chest and abdomen. This allows organs like the stomach or liver to move into the chest cavity, making it difficult for him to breathe and function normally.

Esme is at Gem City Veterinary Services today 10/24/25, undergoing corrective surgery to repair this condition. The estimated cost for his pre-surgical care, procedure, and recovery is approximately $1,000.

Your support will directly help cover Esme’s surgery and give him the chance to live a normal, healthy life. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference for this young cat who’s already come so far.

Please consider donating to help Esme heal and start his next chapter pain-free.
